The Ziegenberg is a south-east to north-west running, about 1.5 kilometers long ridge in the northern Harz foreland between Heimburg and Benzingerode. It rises more than 30 meters beyond the area lying between the first Harz mountains and the Ziegenberg and up to 80 meters above the village Heimburg. In the northwest of the about 2 kilometer long Struvenberg joins. Both mountains belong to the same geological erection zone and are separated by a distinctive saddle.
