South Oak Creek Trail is an enjoyable, wide trail up old road that grants you amazing panoramic views of Mt. Wilson, Potato Knoll (or Wilson Pimple), and Oak Creek Canyon. You also get great views of Rainbow Mountain and the Solar Slab, First Creek Canyon, the summit of Bridge Mountain, and Calico Hills. South Oak Creek Trail is accessed outside of the Scenic Loop on Highway 159 and is a great option if you would like to enjoy Red Rock Canyon without entering the Scenic Loop.
