Threemile Lake is not three miles long; its name is misleading! When this natural barrier lake was first mapped, it was named for its distance from the mouth of the Umpqua River, which was then about three miles away. Shifting coastlines have almost doubled the distance in our day and age.

Dispersed camping is possible on the shore.
