The Alemannic half-timbered house "Haus am Markt" dates back to around 1400 and was restored between 1978 and 1981. Most of the original timber framing was preserved. The first floor now houses the council chamber, and the second floor houses the Galerie am Markt (Gallery at the Market).

Hiking

The historic half-timbered house "Ecklädele" was built in 1581 using a mortise and tenon construction. This construction method required less wood than the Alemannic half-timbering and was also considered safer, especially with regard to fire hazards.

The house was owned by various master craftsmen for a long time, with shoemakers in particular said to have practiced their trade here.
