The town is located in the Sierra de Cantabria, on the northern slope of Mount Toloño and is crossed by the Inglares River, which divides it into two neighbourhoods: Arriba and Abajo, linked by two simple bridges, one of them, called Puente de Arriba, locally called Puente de Palo.
