The imposing half-timbered house dates from the second quarter of the 16th century. It is located at Lopsinger Mauer 6 in Nördlingen. The year 1554 is written on the gable.

Historical building structures that had large gateways and were suitable for a farm are often referred to as Ackerbürgerhaus . Houses were often located on the outskirts of towns near the city gates so that farm wagons would not obstruct general traffic. However, more recent house research shows that such external features are not reliable criteria for distinguishing peasant houses from other residential buildings. According to more recent readings, the typical farmer's house did not exist.
