Nestled in the wide, open landscape between the Leitha Mountains and the Steppensee, the natural beauty of the Rust hill country surprises visitors to the Neusiedler See region. It is not for nothing that UNESCO has declared the region and the St. Margarethen quarry a World Heritage Site (see operimsteinbruch.at).
