In 1839, when the manufactory was destroyed by fire and the workers dispersed, the heiress gave the church building for an Orthodox church, because the old wooden one was in danger of collapsing. From then until World War II, the former church served as a parish church for two villages - Wujski and Załuża. After 1947 it returned to its original function.
