There are 16 species of amphibians in the Netherlands. We also see the 4 most common in the Grebbe line. The moats of the fortifications and the pools along the quays allow these animals to reproduce and spread. We see the frogs and toads along the entire line, while the newt was mainly spotted in the area south of the Grebbeberg and the Spees in the Lower Betuwe.
