The view over the city is magnificent and almost comparable to that of Cobenzl. But to reach by bicycle much faster. (If not less exhausting!) For the fit sports cyclists, I recommend the tour necessarily.

In 1780, the Russian ambassador in Vienna, Prince Demeter von Gallitzin, bought a large part of the hill previously known as the Pfarrstuhl, which had previously belonged to Field Marshal Count Lacy. By 1785 he had a summer palace built here, which was surrounded by a large park with fountains and three ponds. Gallitzin's magnificent residence was much admired in Vienna. The ambassador was famous for his magnificent celebrations. Soon the preaching chair was only referred to as Galiziberg.
