At the end of the 19th century, industrialist and future senator Alessandro Rossi promoted and implemented a series of modernizations and infrastructure projects for his important textile factories, including the Torrebelvicino-Schio-Santorso-Piovene-Rocchette-Arsiero railway. Inaugurated in 1885, it was later modernized in 1933, decommissioned in 1964, and dismantled in the 1970s.
