The wind hole is a natural karst cave near Großmeinfeld a district of the Middle Franconian community Hartenstein. The entrance to the wind hole leads through an eight meter deep collapse doline with 15 meters in diameter, which leads steeply down and breaks abruptly overhanging. In the pit is a cave dome with a diameter of 20 meters and a height of 35 meters. The cave walls are extensively covered with sinter. The cave is very wet by dripping water. The cave is accessible year-round. Due to the cave protection and the wintering bats there is from October to April not to drive. In general, the cave should only be used by very experienced speleologists with appropriate equipment. In this cave, it always comes back to fatal accidents.
