Cycling
This road from El Chalten runs along the great inland ice field with its Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre monoliths. It ends for traffic at Lago del Deserto. Motorbikes and cars have to drive around the huge ice field in Argentina. However, hikers and cyclists will find a small ferry on the Lago that will take them to a pass. There is an adventurous smugglers' path to Lago O'Higgins and then to the beginning/end of the Carretera Austral.
