Hochleckenhaus

The Hochleckenhaus is worth a visit at any time of the year. The view is simply sensational.

The Hochleckenhaus, located at 1572 m, offers both a place to stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation. It is always well attended in summer. The winter room is not locked and has space for 6 people. It is located on a plateau with a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside.

The Hochleckenhaus is a beautifully situated alpine hut, just before the summit cross, where you can stay overnight in tented accommodation or in four-bed rooms. The family who runs the hut is incredibly friendly. The menu at the hut (we were there on August 27, 2025) is limited, but the food is very good, and they also serve homemade lemonade, which is very good. There are six cows right next to the hut that roam freely but aren't particularly interested in visitors.
