    Hiking

Loch Awe is aptly named considering the scenery that surrounds this immense body of water. It's Scotland's longest and third largest freshwater loch and the mighty Cruachan massif rises from its shores. At this northeastern end, the ruin of Kilchurn Castle stands proud on a jutting peninsula. This was the home of the Campbells of Glenorchy from the 15th century to the late 18th century, when they moved to Taymouth Castle.
