It is a quadrangular building with a four-sided roof, with the brick wall of the main façade placed horizontally on edge and arranged in an orthogonal wooden grid and masonry and ashlar gables in the openings and corners. The farm is accessed through an 18th century doorway whose frieze contains a very deteriorated shield in which Velarde's arms could be seen. The building was built at the end of the 17th century, beginning of the 18th century. At the end of the 18th century, the army captain Pedro Velarde y Santiyán lived in this mansion. He was the protagonist, together with Captain Luis Daoiz, of the uprising that took place on May 2, 1808 in Madrid against the Napoleonic troops and cost both soldiers their lives. The house and the farm were declared in 1985 Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Historic Site and since 1966 continents of the Ethnographic Museum of Cantabria.
