The Palace of the Marqués de Villapuente, located in Muriedas and the seat of the Camargo City Council, is one of the most important civil baroque buildings in Cantabria. It was built around 1727 and is made up of two floors to which is attached a beautiful three-story fortress tower built in ashlar masonry from the Escobedo quarries. It has three shields, among which the City Hall and the coat of arms of the Marquis de Villapuente, former owner of the palace, stand out.
