Tienhoven has recently gained an estate; The owners of the Dwarsdijkerveld estate gave up the agricultural use of their 2.3 hectares of land and now manage it as a Natura 2000 area. “There was an agricultural destination on our land, but we had no intention of starting a farming business. We came to live here precisely because of the beautiful nature. Koos has always had additional functions in nature development and the development of our own estate has always been one of our wishes. Our 6.7 acre estate is classified under the Natural Beauty Act (NSW). So you have to make sure that there is natural beauty, but we didn't find that a problem," says the van der Wal family.
