The Galli Furnace is perhaps the most relevant – and certainly the best preserved – example of pre-industrial archeology in the Val Sanagra area. The exploitation of natural resources has always been a vital necessity for the inhabitants of the valley, just as the current of the river was the main source of energy.

Hiking

The origins date back to the seventeenth century, when the whole life of the town revolved around the productive activity of the mills; the property belonged to the Guaita family. In the early nineteenth century it passed first to Gilardi and Colombi, then to the Camozzi family, originally from Como.
