There's only one turnoff (left) a few kilometers later, to Robledo. The other takes you directly to the summit.
At the end, the gradient increases.
Once at the top, the views are impressive. From the guardhouse, you can see half the Sierra, and on the opposite side of the guardhouse, the other half.
