Abbot Alois Wiesinger founded the "Herz-Jesu-Kolleg" in 1925. 7 boarding students started the first school year.
The grammar school of Schlierbach Abbey is a Catholic private school. The school provider is the Stiftsgymnasium Schlierbach school association.
The manageable size of the school (approx. 500 pupils, approx. 50 teachers) enables personal care and a family atmosphere. Special interests and abilities can therefore be promoted in a targeted manner.

Alternative languages in lower and upper school:
From the 3rd grade, there is an alternative choice of Latin or French, in the 5th grade there is still the alternative between French and Italian. Other possible foreign languages in the upper school are Spanish and Russian.
