Church built in the 16th century in Baroque style, although with works corresponding to the 17th and 18th centuries. The exact date of its construction is unknown, probably after the war of the Germanies, between 1516 and 1566, since in that year it appears named in the pastoral visits.
This municipality was originally a farmhouse, as it appears in the Distribution Book, belonging to the municipality of Xàtiva until the 16th century. Obtaining the title of town in 1583, named royal town by Felipe II in 1588.
