Poitiers benefits from the City and Country of Art and History label and in the hyper-centre, the "plateau", a short walk allows you to discover the typical half-timbered and half-timbered houses, the Palace of the Counts of Poitou and the majestic Notre-Dame-la-Grande. Poitiers, capital of Vienne, nestled on a promontory, is the university city par excellence, it was the first university city in France and Navarre.
