The Drosendorf flood protection project was divided into two construction phases.
With the completion of construction phase 1 in 2007 under the project sponsorship of the Upper Franconia district, the 100-year flood protection for the settlement area of Drosendorf south of the Leitenbach could already be implemented.
The second construction phase will protect the remaining district from a 100-year flood event using a combination of protective walls, flood dikes, landfills, and a flood pumping station.
With the completion of the second construction phase, a total of 15 hectares of settlement area in Drosendorf will be protected from flooding.
