This peak of the Apennines belonged to Tuscany until Mussolini changed its borders to enhance the importance of his native Romagna. The Giro d'Italia has only passed this peak once: in 2017, when Omar Fraile was the first to pass (and win the stage at the finish line in Bagno di Romagna). At the top, there are some shelters where you can eat and drink.

Road cycling

Monta Fumaiolo was the last part of the Giro d'Italia in 2017. Here you can follow in the footsteps of professional cycling and give it your all on the way to the summit at an altitude of 1,350 metres. But don't forget to look around, because it's really beautiful here. Incidentally, the mountain belonged to Tuscany. But Mussolini simply assigned it to his home region of Romagna, apparently he liked it here too.
