Mountain biking

Dunnet Forest is a community run woodland with a focus on conservation, restoration and improvement of woodlands in the area of Dunnet Bay, Caithness. The woodland has a purpose built mountain bike trail in addition to hiking and horse trails. This cosy woodland provides a beautiful contrasting environment to the exposed coastline next to it.

Mountain biking

A small green oasis just minutes from the coast of Dunnet Bay. The woodland is community-managed and features specific MTB trails, as well as shared paths with walkers and horse riders. It's a radical change from the open, wind-swept landscape of this part of Caithness: trees, sheltered ground and little runs to duck off the road. Good option for adding a bit of MTB to a north coast run without having to stray too far from Dunnet Bay.
