"In August 1941, the Nazi occupation authorities decided to liquidate the patients of the psychiatric hospital, which was located in the building of the presbytery in Choroszcz during the Soviet occupation. About 100 people stayed there. 550 patients were cared for by local families. The victims were transported to the forest in Nowosiółki by trucks. The Germans carried out executions there. Sources say that 400 to 700 patients could have been murdered in this place. The execution in Nowosiółki was carried out by Wehramcht soldiers."
