Hermitage of the Virgin of Pradas and Castle of Pradas

The Hermitage of the Virgen de Pradas was built in the fourteenth century and is located in the municipality of San Agustín next to the homonymous castle that is behind the hermitage. It is worth visiting both buildings with so much history behind them.

The Virgin of Pradas has many devotees in the area. Noteworthy is the procession that takes place in early spring between San Agustín and this hermitage.The castle belonged to the Escriche family for years. It has now been transferred to the San Agustín town council.
Few remains of the castle remain, but the tower and the entrance arch are notable. We hope it will be rebuilt one day.Be sure to visit the bridge a little further down, as well as some of the surrounding abandoned villages.
