on the pictures that are saved here for the town hall, there are a few things worth seeing such as e.g. the castle island, the water mill, the market hall and the district court.

      Story

      First Town Hall

In 1691, the city bought a count's greenhouse, which was initially used as a fire station and in 1699 was converted into the town hall. A note said: "Because the town hall in Delmenhorst was completely dilapidated and its repair would cost the citizenry a great deal, so instead the house bought from the city's funds for the fire materials and adapted for this purpose was used for the city and Rahtshaus, but so that another convenient place will be acquired for storing the fire materials, which should and may be used."[2] The building was remodeled in 1712, and in 1775 a courtroom was added. The town hall fell into disrepair by 1802, and in 1813 there was only one room left that had fallen into disrepair. In 1821 the remains of the building were demolished and the property was sold to councilor Fitger and the postal manager at Lückens. In 1822, both built their own house on the property where the C&A department store is located today.
