The church of S. Francesco da Paola is a very ancient church of the fourteenth century with a Greek cross plan erected on the base of a previous Byzantine cult building. There is a small underground crypt with rooms used for mummification and display of the deceased. In its most ancient phase the church was the private chapel of the castle, later it was incorporated into the Convent of the Carmelite Fathers.
