Fort La Prée is the oldest military building on the Ile de Ré. Built in the 17th century by Louis XIII, it was then occupied by the German army during the Second World War.

The guided tour is interesting. If you go to the Fort at the beginning of August you can enjoy the "Napoleonic bivouac", it is worth the detour.
