Armação dos Búzios, also known as Búzios for short, is a place or a 16 square kilometer peninsula on the Costa do Sol, a good 170 kilometers east of the Brazilian metropolis of Rio de Janeiro. Once a sleepy fishing village, Armação dos Búzios is known as the "Pearl of the Costa do Sol". With around 220 days of sunshine a year, this stretch of coast is not called the Costa do Sol for nothing.
