The Papoose Creek Trail follows the mountain stream of the same name, taking you deep into the spectacular Lee Metcalf Wilderness. The creek's source is up near Cradle Lakes, though an out and back hike all the way there is a very long day. The trailhead is just off the main road alongside the Madison River and there are a couple of campgrounds, as well as the Grizzly Bar and Grill, to the south.
