Campillejo constitutes a representative urban nucleus characteristic of Guadalajara's black architecture and although due to dimensions it is closer to the denomination of village than to that of town, its constructions of slate, wood and mud are, without a doubt, one of the most singular and picturesque along the route of the black towns.
