The Karpacka Troja Archaeological Open-Air Museum is located in Trzcinica, a few kilometers north-west of Jasło, on the Ropa river valley. The place where it was built is one of the most important archaeological sites in Poland, of exceptional importance for learning about the prehistory of the entire Central and Eastern Europe.
It was created to protect and make the settlement available to tourists as a branch of the Podkarpackie Museum in Krosno. The originator of the construction of the open-air museum in Trzcinica is Jan Gancarski - director of the Podkarpackie Museum. Carpathian Troja is an original combination of the traditional form of an open-air museum and a modern museum facility. The project assumed the creation of an archaeological open-air museum on an area of over 8 hectares. The entire complex consists of a historic settlement, a modern exhibition pavilion, an archaeological park, a breeding sector, experimental plots and a viewing platform.
