In these rocks much "softer" and more permeable than those of the peaks of the upper valley, the water, infiltrating through cracks and fissures, has dug tunnels and passages over the millennia. The most important underground system of the valley is represented by the Bandito caves, which open near the Gesso stream, in the Municipality of Roaschia.
