On the Carinthian side, the last way to the saddle or from Slovenia is the first way after the border, very narrow and not really passable. It's quite overgrown and sometimes dangerous.
Altogether from Slovenia to Carinthia feasible. I wouldn't drive it the other way. Up through all the scree, from Carinthia to Slovenia, is definitely no fun.
