A popular fishing spot, Hopes Nose can be seen from most of Torquay. Now a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), remnants of its disused limestone quarry can be seen on the headland. Look into the quarry pit and you can see the different layers of Devonian limestone which 350 million years ago were coral reefs.
