Hiking Highlight

Bloom Lake is a very pristine little pond with lots of vegetation and wildlife. The area is home to salamander and the rough-skinned newt. When we hiked around the lake, I counted 127 of them crawling on or next to the trail, so mind your step. Try not to touch these newt since they defend themself with a very toxic poison. If you are looking for a place for a break, there is a flatish area with a large tree that provides protection a little further down the trail.
