The Cross Keys is a traditional coaching house type pub but they don't serve alcohol. You are allowed to bring a bottle or two if you’re dining and they don't charge corkage. You can get a drink, eat or stay here. It's an interesting place with lots of history.
It's also the perfect start for a walk in the Howgills with Cautley Spout and the Calf close by.

Even if the pub is closed, it is surrounded by great parking opportunities to start your walk to Cautley Spout, so it's the ideal place to pop into your maps to find the start of several walks.
