Hiking Highlight
The Achensee is the largest lake in Tyrol. It lies at an altitude of 929 meters above sea level. All around, the mountains of the Karwendel and the Rofan climb up about 1000 vertical meters.

Fantastic lake with many nice bathing possibilities and boat trips.

The third stage of crossing the Alps leads along the western shore of the lake, we were there on a Saturday, when the weather was perfect.
It was very crowded, there was a lot of waiting to be done.
There was time for beautiful things, you could not see Turkish lilies every day.

For me (with the Königssee) the most beautiful lake in the Alps!

View from Maurach. Crossers of the Alps should have the view behind them. :)

The path from Maurach to Pertisau is tarred and is wonderful to walk and cycle. The view over the lake is really a poem and I think so in any weather.

The Achensee is an absolute highlight. You can do almost anything here. Whether with children or alone, there are many possibilities here. The water is of great quality and invites you to swim in the summer.

Discover the Achensee from both sides. Karwendel mountains, Rofan mountains 👍 just wonderful from both sides 😊

But it will be nicer. If you hike from Pertisau towards Achenkirch over the Geißalm, it is a little adventure with gigantic views of the Achensee. Please do not underestimate the path. From the Geißalm to Achenkirch there are quite a few stairs and inclines. Both uphill and downhill.
