The historic fortifications at Hau in Neuenweg are unique in the southern Black Forest, as a redoubt (square redoubt) and a star redoubt are located in close proximity to each other. Both are part of the extensive fortification line ordered by "Türkenlouis" (Louis the Turk), which ultimately stretches across the entire Black Forest. The fortifications at Hau were built between 1697 and 1701.
