The largest attraction Corner Brooks is located on the outskirts on a hill (about 150 to 200 meters above sea level) located Captain James Cook Historic Site. Why opening hours are given, not accessible to me, because the area is freely accessible. The viewpoint high above the fjord shows next to a life-size bronze statue also some informative boards. Sensational is the view! Only disturbing factor: the paper mill located at the port - but that can be well hidden.

The way up to the Captain Cook Monument leads from the City Hall initially along less attractive roads, but then slightly uphill through a quiet residential area. It can happen that the extremely friendly inhabitants offer transport up to the monument! Where else can this happen, except in friendly Canada!

Alternatively you can take a taxi for about CAD 17 or the bus with the route 2 (departure back of the Cityhall) for CAD 2,50 p.P. flat rate per trip, but does not drive up to the top, so that you save only about half of the way (the not so nice piece).
