Cycling

The parish church in the center of the village is dedicated to Saint Walburga. This, a sister of the missionaries Wunibald and Willibald, was born in Essex / England in 710. Orphaned at an early age, she was sent to a monastery in Dorset and received a good education there. Following the example of her brothers and her uncle Boniface, she came to southern Germany as a missionary. After the death of her brother Wunibald in 761, she took over the management of the Heidenheim men's monastery and shortly afterwards a women's monastery was founded there. She died in 779.
