The archaeological site of Montauban-Buzenol, located in Buzenol (municipality of Etalle) in Belgium, is listed as an exceptional heritage site in the Walloon Region. It is a set formed by a fortified ancient refuge and ruins of old forges. Since the 1950s, the site, placed under protection, has been the site of the development of various museum spaces.

The Forges de Montauban was once a thriving iron and steel complex, dating back to the 16th century. You can explore the remains of the old ovens, mills and workshops, as well as the magnificent ponds and forests along the Gros Ruisseau River. Several trails are offered, ranging from easy to expert, and offering different views and attractions. You can also visit the neighboring village of Buzenol, which has a medieval castle and a military cemetery. The Forges de Montauban are a great place to enjoy nature and history in a single hike.
