This is one of the very few information boards you will find along the Pacific Crest Trail that will provide you with some facts about the burn area you will pass. The Falls Creek Fire started in July 1988 and it took the firemen about two weeks to get it under control. This puts into perspective how long it takes for a forest to grow again, which is visual all around you as you walk through this area.
