The Hohe Wand Wiese is one of the two ski slopes in Vienna and is located in the 14th district of Penzing on the edge of the Vienna Woods. It opened in 1966 and was the scene of the first parallel slalom and the first floodlit slalom in the history of skiing. The slope is 400 meters long, has a vertical drop of 102 meters and a maximum gradient of 25%. It has a tow lift, a baby tow lift, snow-making equipment and floodlights. You need a trail ticket to ski the slope, which you can buy online or at the cash desk. The Hohe Wand Wiese is not only an attractive destination in winter, but also in summer. There has been a summer toboggan run here since 2006, which offers fun for the whole family. In addition, the Hohe Wand Wiese is part of the first and only urban mountain bike trail center in Austria, which offers 10 trails, a pump track, a skills area, a bike school, a bike shop and a cozy restaurant.
