The building was built around 1591 and drastically renovated in 1754. Against the right side facade is an iron gauge, the Breese foot, which was used in the past as a calibration tool for measuring lengths. The Breese foot is 28.5 cm long. Since 1981 there has been a carillon in the turret on the building, which resounds over the city every half hour (on the quarters). In the left side wall there is another stamp booth. This cubicle was used by the night watch (clappermen). After the service round, a stamp was applied to the service paper.
