Grochowo is a village in the Sulęcin commune and district in the Lubuskie Voivodeship. Historical sources mention it as early as 1413. In the years 1793 - 1945 it was part of the Prussian and German states, but after World War II it belongs to Poland again. The current Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is at least the third church since the Middle Ages and stands on the site of the previous one, built in 1626. It is a neo-Gothic style brick building erected in 1888, which was badly damaged during World War II and whose tower suffered the most, partially collapsing. It was rebuilt in 1981 and since then has served Catholics as a branch of the parish of Our Lady Queen of Poland in Trzemeszno Lubuskie.
