Galeazzo Marescotti was the first life senator of Bologna. Galeazzo was responsible for the construction of the palace, which began in 1458. Behind the palace is the dovecote, a beautiful tower structure, opened on the top by two orders of superimposed loggias, already dated back to the mid-seventeenth century, but probably more ancient.
